In December, Pastor Harvey will preach from Revelation 1-2. This book is a revelation that Jesus Christ gave to the beloved disciple, John, when he was in exile on the island of Patmos. In it we find powerful imagery, often rooted in the Old Testament, that God uses to give a glimpse of the spiritual realities behind human history.
While it is has often been mangled in popular culture with botched predictions and fantastical portrayals of future events, the Apocalypse is intended to be an encouragement that Jesus is advancing his kingdom in every age. Revelation will provide a powerful and encouraging presentation of Jesus Christ as we celebrate advent this year.

During the month of November, Pastor Harvey will preach from Matthew 5:1-16. This famous portion of Scripture contains the Beatitudes. Here Jesus teaches us how we can have a blessed life in the the most chaotic of times.
This text has captured the imagination of believers and unbelievers alike for centuries. It is the perfect place to begin our life together as a church in the center of New York City in November 2024.
Our worship at City On A Hill is simple, rich, and oriented around elevating our voices in praise to God. We sing traditional Christian hymns set to classic and modern arrangements, as well as newer songs by groups such as City Alight, the Gettys, and Indelible Grace, and more. We regularly use the ancient creeds of the church as an expression of our unity with the historic, global church of Jesus Christ.
